Her Press Office launched a fierce attack SW at PASOKaccusing it of hypocrisy through an official statement it published on Wednesday morning, where it again speaks of a “green SYRIZA”.

“Androulakis’s PASOK in words asks for a reduction in taxes, and PASOK in practice (as in the Municipality of Athens with Haris Doukas) increases municipal fees for small and medium businesses, tourism, restaurants and shops,” the announcement reads initially.

“Mr. Androulakis is meeting with the social partners today and is supposed to be in favor of bigger increases in the minimum wage through collective bargaining, while Mr. Doukas states that the increase in municipal fees is due to a significant extent to the increase in salary costs, due to the increase in the minimum wage (and the salaries of municipal employees), which the government decided” notes Piraeus, adding:

“Mr. Doukas promised in his pre-election program “that we can and will proceed to reduce the remunerative municipal fees by at least 10%” and after the election he increases the municipal fees for professionals, tourism and shops”.

At the same time, he underlines that the government “reduces taxes in practice and in a permanent way, while PASOK only talks about tax reductions, without a study and without saying where it will find 3 billion euros, and in practice increases municipal fees, which it demanded that will reduce”.

The Mitsotakis government has so far reduced over 60 taxes, direct as well as indirect. The new budget foresees the reduction of another 12 and will continue to do so with responsibility, seriousness and with the sole aim of providing substantial tax relief for citizens.

We leave PASOK to its contradictions, saying some things in words and doing other things when it finds itself in a position of responsibility. And because Mr. Androulakis presents proposals without costing, we would invite him to start by costing how much the increased municipal fees, decided by the “companion” of Haris Doukas, will cost the professionals of Athens.
