The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is going to Turkey tomorrow with measured and realistic expectations and a positive agenda, where he will have a meeting with the Turkish President, Tayyip Erdogan, according to government sources.
SKAI reports that Mr. Mitsotakis will raise the issue of cooperation with Ankara in the energy field, either through a “revival” of East Med with Turkish participation, or through some other form of cooperation, or through a reciprocal transfer of liquefied natural gas ( LNG) in order to maximize energy security.
Government sources say the issue was also discussed during the Greek prime minister’s fourth meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Solz on the sidelines of the informal council of EU leaders in Versailles. On Monday, the Chancellor will travel to Turkey for a meeting with the Turkish president, to whom he is expected to send a common message to refrain from aggression and illegal drilling, in order to drop the tone in the region at this critical juncture.
