We did not express this position by saying that we do not respect court decisions, but I expressed it by noting that a ceasefire is necessary. Civilians must be protected, the unfortunately too many dead on the Palestinian side have the same value, but there are dead and hostages on the Israeli side,” he underlined.

Mr. Marinakis also emphasized that there is a very small and sad minority of our fellow human beings who express the other side of fascism.

“Fascism has two sides. They are from the Far Left, and not only from Accra but also from a part of the rest of this political space, who before crying for a dead person ask where that dead person is from. But all the dead have the same value, we don’t weigh the dead. We do not weigh the value of an abused woman according to whether she is abused by Muslim regimes or by civilized states. Every woman who is abused has the same value and we will not stop saying that. And we will not stop resisting this fascism of the minority.”

“We have reduced many indirect taxes”

Then, responding to the criticism leveled at the government regarding tax reductionsthe government spokesman noted that he prefers to talk about taxes being cut in action rather than taxes being cut in words, “like the taxes being cut by Mr. Androulakis”.

“Mr. Androulakis since Saturday has changed 2-3-4 versions of what he will do with the VAT. But what we do helps in the direction of reducing the difficulties of the citizens. this government has reduced as many taxes in total as no government has reduced after the coup, that is, 50 in the first four years, 9 in the first year of the second four years and another 12 from 1/1/2025. In terms of VAT, the government has reduced many: animal feed, fertiliser, farm machinery, gyms, dance schools, cinemas, self-serve coffee, health-related products and transport. Aren’t these social goods? Tell me another government that cut taxes without mortgaging our children’s future”

At the same time, he recalled that the Mitsotakis government came out with a program in 2019 and was re-elected with another in 2023, which was a continuation of the first one, promising a policy that will gradually breathe life into the middle class. “For me the point is to look the world in the eye and listen to us without changing the channel, is to understand that the only way to deal with this accumulated inflation is to raise incomes. Only in this way will we reach our goal, which is to reach the average salary of 1,500 euros”.

“No human hand will interfere with the calls from the new cameras”
