“The palinades of the green SYRIZA regarding its economic proposals are endless. It is difficult to follow what the PASOK of (rebaptized) Androulakis has said within a week, but we will try,” the press representative of the ND emphasized in a post. Nikos Romanos, referring to PASOK’s proposals on the economy.

Mr. Romanos noted that last Saturday Mr. Androulakis proposed a VAT reduction of 2 units which will be re-evaluated in 3 years and pointed out:

“When we told him that this measure alone costs 3 billion and asked where he would find it, Mr. Tsoukalas to explain to us that the reduction will be departmental and based on a study that will be re-evaluated every 3 months and/or every year, at the same time questioning the costing of 3 billion (1.5 per VAT unit), but without telling us how much they themselves are costing it, since this would be shown by the study that has not been done yet and we never understood whether it will precede the reduction or not.”

Then – continued Mr. Romanos – “the executive of PASOK Christos Megas he told us that in the end they are not proposing a 2% VAT reduction, but 6% on food. Then came out Mr. Nikitiadis and revealed what they carefully concealed: That the 4 billion that their financial proposals cost in total (of which 3 billion is from the VAT reduction by two units) will come from a tax increase. Yesterday Mr. came out again. Tsoukalas to explain that the tax increase announced by Mr. Nikitiadis refers to the tax rates of dividends over 100,000 euros without being able to answer either how many companies the specific measure concerns, nor how much revenue it will contribute. Obviously, among the many things that Mr. Tsoukalas is that the data show that the reduction of the tax on dividends not only did not reduce revenues, but increased them.

Finally, he referred to the statements of Mr.Manju saying that “today he put the icing on the cake of mocking the citizens, admitting that there is no costing for PASOK’s proposals and that we will wait until pre-election documents are submitted to the General Accounting Office of the State and it costs them!”

And he concluded:

“Ultimately, the description “green SYRIZA” is probably lenient because… it does injustice even to SYRIZA.”
