Emphasis was placed on bilateral issues in the context of the implementation of the strategic cooperation framework between Greece and Britain, during the discussion between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Keir Starmer, during their meeting in Downing Street.

According to sources, more advanced were the agreements for cooperation in shipping and tourism.

As far as migration is concerned, Britain showed particular interest in how Greece has handled the issue, while the need to crack down on people-trafficking gangs and small boats was discussed.

In fact, Starmer seems to have made reference to the recent arrest of the Turkish smuggler in Chios.

Regarding the War in Ukraine and the Middle East, the need for support for Kiev and a ceasefire in Gaza was highlighted.

In relation to coordination in the Security Council, Britain is interested in all the axes that Greece has set (six priorities) as a non-permanent member, both regarding the protection of children and women in wars and up to climate change.

Finally, with regard to the Cyprus issue, Britain has declared that it will participate in an expanded UN Secretary-General, the information states, with the Deputy Minister for Europe, Stephen Doughty.
