With the positions of the general rapporteurs of the nine parliamentary groups, the five-day debate on the state budget, fiscal year 2025, begins tomorrow Wednesday (11 am) in the plenary session of the Parliament.
Interest is expected to peak on SundayDecember 15, 2023, with the Prime Minister’s statements Kyriakou Mitsotakisof the official opposition leader Nikos Androulakis and the presidents of the parliamentary groups of the other parties.
The budget discussion will be completed no later than midnight of Sunday. Immediately after, there will be a roll-call vote, which – by tradition – is a vote of confidence in the government.
The bill entitled “Sanction of the State Budget for fiscal year 2025” has already been accepted, by a majority, by the competent committee of the Parliament. “Ultra» voted New Democracy. PASOK-Movement for Change voted “against”, except for defense spending.
“AgainstSYRIZA-PS, the KKE, the Hellenic Solution – Kyriakos Velopoulos, the New Left and the Freedom Movement – Zoe Konstantopoulou also voted. “Reservation” expressed the Democratic Movement “Niki” and the “Spartiates” NGO.
