A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is held at the Maximos Palace on the subject of the protection of minors from internet dangers and addiction to social media.

According to information from SKAI, through the kid’s wallet application, parents will be able to prevent children from accessing certain pages with keywords that will be prohibited.

The aim, according to the same information, is to find a realistic and workable way to establish age criteria in the use of social media.

Speaking to SKAI today, the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis he said about today’s announcements that are expected: “Here the problem must be seen as a whole. These are not the first initiatives to be announced today. Juvenile violence, internet addiction, these are all interconnected vessels. What we need to see is the dimension of the state, the dimension of the platforms and the dimension of the family.

We do not want to announce a measure that will be fireworks. The Prime Minister will attend a meeting with the Ministry of Digital Governance, listen and make announcements. We will move on two levels of a broad strategy. One is about what parents can do, to know the tools they have in their hands, to do an information campaign and the prime minister will say other interesting things. But don’t expect this government to make decisions above the bar of reality.”
