The tweets posted by PASOK’s political planning officer after the statements of the Voice of Reason president
By Despina Vlepakis
Anna Diamantopoulou, PASOK’s Political Planning Officer, took a critical position on her party’s handling of the confrontation between Afroditis Latinopoulos and Adonis Georgiadis for what the President of the Voice of Reason said about Costas Simitis.
The former European Commissioner posted 3 tweets on her personal account starting with a sharp comment about the fact that the only one who “raped” Mrs. Latinopoulou for her vulgar reports was Adonis Georgiadis. “All of us from above”, was Mrs. Diamantopoulou’s “sponda”.
Within a few minutes she corrected her post and the rant towards her companions became a reflection on the management that she considers to be humiliating “such persons”.
Not 6 minutes passed and Anna Diamantopoulou came back, removing the “only” from the post referring to Adonis Georgiadis.
From Harilaou Trikoupi they commented that Anna Diamantopoulou’s latest post covers them.
As for Afroditis Latinopoulou’s statements, Harilaou Trikoupis executives note that they will not value Ms. Latinopoulou who is a pale person who cannot judge Kostas Simitis.
What had come before
Yesterday, the president of the Voice of Reason, speaking to SKAI, commented on the Government’s decision to declare four days of national mourning for Kostas Simitis, expressing her disagreement. “The ones who should mourn are the Turks and not the Greeks because the Aegean turned gray. You will not see me doing the hagiography of Mr. Simitis. I don’t forget Imia, I don’t forget that 3 heroes lost their lives for their country and Simitis initiated the graying of the Aegean, I don’t forget the stock market, I don’t forget that he handed Ocalan, an ally of Greece, to Turkey, I don’t forget that he abolished the religion in identities, I don’t forget that the ND baptized the Semitic high priest of Intertwining”
Speaking to Action 24 today, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis described Mrs. Latinopoulou’s statement as “horrific”.
“You cannot come out and call a man a traitor who has not yet entered the grave. It is a horrible behavior of complete lack of everything that constitutes Greece culturally” added the health minister.
A few minutes later and from the same media, Aphrodite Latinopoulou raised the glove and replied to Adonis Georgiadis
“If you called me on Friday to talk about it, you called me today, we didn’t know to wait for 40… When do you want me to talk? Easter? On a human level, I respect that and that’s why I expressed my sincere condolences.”
“To reconsider how we deal with politicians who have no knowledge of Greek history”
Speaking to Action 24, following the posts, Ms. Among other things, Diamantopoulou said:
“As I wrote in X, the prevailing logic is that when you react to these people and this kind of vulgarity, you are highlighting them. But then I saw that what Mrs. Latinopoulou said went on most channels and sites. That is, these most extreme obscenities became an issue. And this is not of a simple politician but of a woman who was elected MEP. It would be good for him to read history and learn that he would not be a member of the European Parliament if it were not for Konstantinos Karamanlis to put us in the EEC and then for Kostas Simitis to put us in the euro – because I remind you that we were in danger of leaving the euro as well”.
When asked by Seraphim Kotrotsos about whether PASOK should react with an official statement about what Aphrodite Latinopoulou said about Costas Simitis, the Political Officer of PASOK answered: “I think it didn’t work for the logic I described to you, not to highlight people and logic of this kind” while adding: “I think we have to reconsider how we deal with these politicians and these parties who have no measure and no knowledge of Greek history.”
