EOPYY is launching a new confirmation system for five categories of health benefits for the insured.

In particular, as informed by the Organization, from February 3, 2025, confirmation/identification of the beneficiary of care will be required during the issuance and execution of health services and products, using a special one-time password (One-Time-Password).

The special code will be sent by message to the certified mobile phone number of each care beneficiary as it will be declared according to the instructions mentioned below.

In order to have a smooth transition to the new system, it is possible to issue and execute an opinion on health services and products without a certified mobile phone number, an option that will not be available for any subsequent opinions, as the beneficiaries will be required of care have previously completed the mobile phone number verification process.

The application of a special one-time password (One-Time-Password) for the issuance and execution of EKPY opinions concerns the following categories of health benefits:

  • Physiotherapy and KAA Open Care
  • Special Education
  • Sanitary Material
  • Additional Care Materials
  • Special Diet Formulations

The certification of the mobile phone number can be carried out, either in the Health Insurance File of EOPYY (via the website of EOPYY www.eopyy.gov.gr), or in the National Register of Communications (EMP) (via the website of www. gov.gr or through Citizen Service Centers).

It is clarified that the following applies to the special cases of minor children and overages:

Minor children who have not issued taxisnet codes: When issuing/executing an opinion, the parent’s mobile phone will be used, as long as he has done the certification through FAU EOPYY or EMEp.

Seniors who do not have a mobile phone number: There is a possibility of certifying seniors in the EOPYY FAU using their carer’s mobile phone number. Thereafter, issuance/execution of opinion will be done using the certified mobile phone number of the carer.
