“Yesterday was very important, it closed a big chapter in the country’s political history. Kostas Simitis was the successor of Andreas Papandreou and these two leaders together succeeded in approximately two and a half decades, from 1981 to 2004, for the PASOK governments to contribute to the increase of social mobility, i.e. the social doubling of the country,” he said in Parapolitika 90 ,1 the press representative of PASOK-Movement for Change, Kostas Tsoukalas.

Regarding the increase in health insurance premiums, the representative of PASOK-KINAL emphasized that “the reason we see this increase today did not come by itself, but comes based on a legal framework, brought by the New Democracy in 2020 and would lead to a 14% increase in premiums of lifetime contracts this year.”

For the person of the President of the RepublicMr. Tsoukalas repeated that “we raised a political issue, because Mrs. Sakellaropoulou was a personal choice of the prime minister and in the event that he does not renew her, he should explain why he does not do so and how he evaluated her term” and added: “If renews it, he will again have to explain why he allowed three months for the face of the President of the Republic to weaken. If Mr. Mitsotakis proposes Mrs. Sakellaropoulou, we will evaluate the proposal and take a position.”

Regarding the fact that the name of Mr. Venizelou, Mr. Tsoukalas emphasized: “Evangelos Venizelos is flesh of the flesh of our faction and we honor him. He is not just a person coming from the Center-Left but he was also the president of PASOK. Our positive opinion regarding Evangelos Venizelos is a given. But we do not want to get into a nomenclature, as institutionally and according to the Constitution, the government will propose and we will evaluate this proposal”.
