US President Donald Trump, who is seeking to control the distribution of federal disaster aid, said today that he will sign an executive order to overhaul or even abolish FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). the federal agency for dealing with disasters from hurricanes, wildfires and other natural phenomena.

“I will sign an executive order to begin overhauling FEMA or perhaps abolishing FEMA“, the Republican president said during his visit to North Carolina.

FEMA, he argued, is a “costly, slow, bureaucratic” agency that has turned out to be a “disaster.”

Trump was in North Carolina to see first-hand the devastation caused by Hurricane Helen last fall.

Security is over for Dr. Fauci

Trump also announced that he has ended the federal custody of former US Surgeon General Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“He can hire his own security,” he commented.

Fauci, who was the government’s top health adviser during the Covid-19 pandemic, had coverage provided by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), according to CNN.
