There were plenty of snapshots recorded in today’s, special plenary session of the House and the nominal vote for the election of the new President of the Republic. Among them was the occupation of the parliamentary seats, from a very early age by the ND MPs, the entry of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who was the first of the political leaders to enter the room, but also the simultaneous departure of PASOK-KINALIS President Nikos Nikos Androulakis with independent MPs Petros Pappas and Rania Thraskia after the end of the vote.
In particular:
Both in the corridors of the House and in theory, unlike other special meetings, today there was calm. There were few visitors who came to watch the vote for the four candidates for the post of the President of the Republic.
On the contrary, the presence of the ND MPs who had filled the parliamentary seats from a very early age. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as well as Ministers, Development, Takis Theodorikakos, Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis, was the first of political leaders, followed by the Ministers of National Economy, Kostis Hatzidakis and Politics, Only who accompanied the prime minister to the ministerial benches.
- In the last seats, independent MP Rania Thraskia chose to sit down, next to independent MP Alexandros Avlonitis -affiliated with the “Democracy Movement” -but without exchanging a single conversation throughout the meeting.
On the contrary, Mrs Thraskia talked several times with independent MP Evangelos Apostolakis – who was sitting right in front of her – both before she was voting and afterwards, so she said she was voting in favor of PASOK -KINAL’s proposal and Tasos Giannitsis’ nomination.
- Former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras also chose the rear, with ND MP Milto Chrysomalis, the Independent MPs, Athina Linou, Yiannis Sarakiotis, Petros Pappas and the MP of PASOK.
- Former SYRIZA President Alexis Tsipras chose the middle seats with SYRIZA MP Vassilis Kokkalis next to him, showing that the latter was saying with interest for quite some time.
At 11:03 the Speaker of the House, Nikitas Kaklamanis, climbed the plenary headquarters and opened the meeting at 11:07, with reference to the death of Archbishop Anastasios and a minute’s silence in his memory at 11:09 of the vote, which was completed at 11:55 and at 12:04 announced the results.

- Immediately after the announcement of the results, Petros Pappas, who also voted in favor of Tasos Giannitsis’ candidacy, approached and hugged Rania Thraskia while just seeing PASOK President Nikos Androulakis and his hand to pass by him. responds with a smile. Behind him was followed by Mrs Thraskia and together all three came out of the plenary hall.
