Sta Tempe mentioned the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, answering a relevant question during the briefing of the political editors. Note that there will be a pre-day debate in the Parliament about Tempi as requested by Mr. Famellos and the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, will be present.

“One can hardly remember such tragic days as that tragic day accident of Tempe. It is a collective trauma and all citizens are asking for justice and especially the relatives of the victims, who have suffered like no one else. They demand justice. Justice will come through the decisions of the Court of Justice and justice will be awarded only by judicial officials and yesterday the citizens expressed this request through the gatherings which were indeed crowded, while it was a resounding message for justice” emphasized Pavlos Marinakis.

“One cannot ignore this request, which is not current. It is from the first moment that what happened happened, that fateful evening, that fateful night. We could all think that it could have been our own children over there. Those of us who have traveled on this train. We thought we could have been there when we were students. There are no words to describe this feeling and certainly no one can take the place of the people who lost their relatives and friends. We stand with unbounded respect. We say it over and over again: We bow our heads before them and under no circumstances can anyone ever imagine what it would be like to be in their position” he noted and added:

“Citizens express these feelings of distress, anger, indignation and their main demand, I repeat, is justice. So be sure that there is no person… Alas, if there was, he either has a government position, or is in some opposition party that does not want justice, but let’s be clear: Justice only by judges, justice only by Justice itself. Not by TV panels of any kind, nor by politicians of any party. Justice right now for Tempe is at a very critical stage, the stage of the main investigation, which is governed by secrecy and what the government has to do is to let the justice do its job, as the Constitution stipulates us, without any intervention, without any comment, without any judgement. Requests are made. The judges must evaluate them.”
