“Invest project is a staircase towards a digitally dominant, durable continent, fulfilling through the collective work of the parties involved, the promise of a interconnected, innovative and strengthened Europe with the aim of seamlessly serving its citizens.” During the inaugural meeting of the Invest – (Interoperaubility Vision in Europe – Strategy Timeplan) at the Ministry of Digital Governance.

It is a flagship project for Europe, which aims to set strategic priorities and to form a detailed action plan for the implementation of the new European Regulation on the establishment of a high level of public sector interoperability across the European Union (Interoperable Europe Act, EU/903/2024). Invest with a total budget of € 1 million is funded by the Digital Europe program, lasting 12 months and will be completed in December 2025.

The Ministry of Digital Governance has coordinated the Invest project, which emphasizes the enhancement of interoperability, promoting innovation and digital transformation in all European public administrations with the participation of interested parties.

Through its structured approach to strategic planning, implementation, and involvement of interested parties, Invest supports the development of a digital single market.

Invest’s opening meeting was attended by partners from 7 project Member States (Greece, Finland, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Croatia and Luxembourg), representatives of the Directorate -General for Informatics of the European Commission (DG Digit), and 62 representatives from 20 countries: , Bulgaria, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Estonia, Spain, Cyprus, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Finland. During this, they discussed the strategic priorities of the Regulation on Interoperable Europe (EU/903/2024) and the mechanism of systematic cooperation between Member States for the Common Implementation of Interoperable Solutions, through polygamic projects and other initiatives. They also highlighted the importance of coordinated action and the active participation of all parties involved.

On behalf of Greece, the implementation of the project includes the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Government and the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructure (EYDIT SA – GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Governance.

In recent years, the Ministry of Digital Governance, using interoperability, has significantly upgraded the public sector digital services through Gov.gr. In addition, it has taken significant European level initiatives on interoperability, such as a proposal for the establishment of a European Digital Infrastructure (EDIC) based in Greece, which relates to interoperability and connected and innovative public administrations (IMPACTS). Its purpose is to promote the development and implementation of common European interoperability solutions in accordance with the Interoperative Europe Regulation in all Member States.
