In the new era, as it is worldwide, in Greek -Turkish relations and the positive agenda, in Ukrainian, as well as in Greece and US relations, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Extraversion, Tasos Hatzivasiliou, in an interview today, today to SKAI.

Regarding the new era of international relations, “where nothing will be the same, as it was during the end of the Cold War to the present day, our government has worked, in an unsuspecting time, to be properly prepared for the new reality “Mr. Hadjivasiliou stressed, explaining the two demands that are in the coming period.

“The first is for Europe to move on to a substantial common defense. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been shouting for years: a need for Europe’s strategic autonomy. The second big demand of the new period is energy security. And our country has managed to become an energy hub and, thanks to its infrastructure, to be an energy security provider in the wider neighborhood, “he said.

Concerning Greek -Turkish relations and the positive agenda, the Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that “according to planning, the Supreme Cooperation Council is planned to take place in 2025. It is Turkey’s turn to host it. In any case, the positive agenda progresses normally. Consultations on issues of commercial and business relations are continuing. “

Also, regarding the Erdogan statement on Ukraine, Mr Hadjivasiliou stressed that if Turkey actually believes that it must respect the territorial integrity of third countries, it must do so in the case of Cyprus as well.

Regarding the Ukrainian, he pointed out the need for a single European attitude, without disagreements and asterisks. “Selective meetings do not help to collapse a single front. We need to support Kiev so that it has a better starting point in any negotiation, “he said. He stressed that Greece has made it clear that it will be in the lead of the countries for the rebuilding of Ukraine after the end of the war. “For example, in March, a Business Forum is being organized in Bucharest, with Greek businesses interested in participating in the rebuilding of Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry is properly preparing for it to be able to stand up to the circumstances, “he added.

Finally, for Greece and the US relations, Mr Hadjivasiliou pointed out that they are so well established in common interests and common values that transcend political parties and persons. Indicatively, he said that in previous years there was inter -party support from Congress on Greek interest, with the main supporter of current US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
