The daily food (compensation) is increased by 50% for people with disabilities residing in supported living roofs and by 44% daily food for people with severe disabled in boarding houses, with a joint decision of the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofias Zacharakis, Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis and Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Thanos Petralia.

Specifically, as provided for in JMD, increased by 50%for the first time since 2014, the daily food received by people with disabilities living in supported living roofs and from 40 euros, is 60 euros. This increase corresponds to an additional EUR 600 per month for each beneficiary. After the increase, the supported living housing, which received a monthly food of 1,200 euros per beneficiary, will receive a monthly food of 1,800 euros per beneficiary.

Additional, is risingafter 17 years, at 50 euros from 34.63 euros the food for boarding houses. The increase corresponds to 461 euros per month. It is worth noting that in September 2024, for the first time, people with heavy disability residing in boarding houses were compensated for their registration in opening and daily care centers, thereby guaranteeing their fundamental right to equal treatment and access to Services that assist in their social integration.

The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zacharakis, said:

“With the aim of living independently people with disabilities, as well as the viability of supported living roofs and in close cooperation with representatives of people with disabilities and our institutional partners, we make every effort to make people with disabilities have the best possible living conditions. We have exhausted every budgetary margin and after 11 years we increase the food on the roofs of supported living for those who received a daily food of 40 euros and will now receive a daily food of 60 Euros. At the same time, after 17 years, we also increase the food for people with severe boarding homes.
