Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis today welcomed the ministry to the EU Council Coordinator on Terrorism Issues Bartjan Wegter.

As noted in the announcement, their meeting was raised issues to strengthen the cooperation to more effectively manage migratory flows and dealing with their interconnection with terrorist networks. Particular reference was made to the new EU’s new strategy to deal with terrorism more effectively, in the background of developments in North Syria, with attacks on Christians and the liberation of prisons from prisons, which may be linked to extremist networks, which are coordinated.

At the same time, both Mr Chrysochoidis and the EU Council Coordinator were in detail to enhance the security of the Greek borders, with an emphasis on the Evros region, which are also a “barometer” border of the European Union and agreed to the next steps for further security in Europe.

The meeting was also attended by EU Council executives, ELAS leader, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios, as well as senior ELAS officers.
