The New Democracy MEP filed five amendments to the European Parliament’s budget report on 2026
The New Democracy MEP Georgefiled five amendments to the report of Budget of European parliament For 2026. These proposals aim to increase the funding for housing, to provide greater compensation to natural and legal persons, which have been affected by natural disasters, as well as the continuation of the funding of projects at the border from Evros to Kastelorizo, but also to increase the resources of asylum. In addition, the MEP notes the need to provide protection and funding to fishermen, threatened by illegal fishing activities.
The 5 amendments are:
1. Increasing funding to address the housing crisis.
2. Increase in funding for marine and land borders, namely Evros and Aegean islands, as decided last year, for the first time, in a corresponding report of 2025.
3. Increase in funds for migration and asylum funds.
4. Increasing resources in EU fishing fleets and the protection of those threatened by illegal fishing activities.
5. Increasing compensation and support of multilateral actions to tackle natural disasters.
