A telephone conversation with Eurogroup president and Ireland Minister Pascal Donochiou today was held today by Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis.

The two ministers exchanged views on the macroeconomic perspectives, international challenges and discussed issues on the agenda of the next Eurogroup and Ecofin meetings in Warsaw on April 11-12.

In their communication, emphasis was placed on the eurozone’s financial performance, the funding of increased defense needs, as well as the promotion of the digital aspects of monetary policy.

Kyriakos Pierrakakis particularly referred to the upgrading of the Greek economy by Moody’s and stressed that Greece would fully adhere to its surplus, debt reduction and primary spending.

As the Greek finance minister pointed out, the commitment to fiscal stability and reforms are the only solid basis for promoting development policies that will lead to the upgrading of the lives of Greek citizens.
