The 14 votes of the majority of the majority approved at the last meeting of the pre -trial committee the New Democracy’s finding of a criminal prosecution against the former deputy minister. Christos Triantopoulos on the offense of breach of duty and referring to the Judicial Council.

The committee’s curtain fell with the majority withdrawal Opposition members, with SYRIZA, KKE, Greek Solution, New Left and Independent Athena Linou abstaining from the vote on the “blue” referral finding.

Following today, the last act of the Commission, the plenary will have the reason – probably next Friday, April 11 – to give the Green Light for the final referral to Mr Triantopoulos to the Judicial Council.

The Commission’s finding

The majority finding, which was voted on today, refer to the chapter of conclusions as follows:

“A preliminary examination has already been carried out by the Prosecutor of Appeals of Larissa and issued the Public Prosecutor No. 43/2024, which archived the lawsuits for a number of non -political persons and forwarding the file to the House of Representative Prosecution in four (4) natural persons.

The concentrated evidence referred to herein is considered to be absolutely sufficient material for the Commission to conclude, evaluating that the terms required by law at this stage to propose the plenary of the criminal prosecution, and it is not necessary for the criminal prosecution. Explanations, a call to which he responded.

The Commission therefore considers that the concentrated material and thoughts developed in the prosecutor’s provision are sufficient and does not need to do other acts.

Consequently, the facts described in the Public Prosecutor’s provision and led to their legal affiliation, as stated in the provision and led to the criminal prosecution of four (4) natural persons in exactly the same way, are considered to constitute the evidence required by law and for criminal prosecution.

The Commission concludes with the above conclusion, regardless of his will to be led to the natural judge as soon as possible. Regardless of this, the Commission proposes the criminal prosecution for the offense of breach of duty (No. 259 CC) solely from the concentrated evidence and the prosecution issued. We therefore propose the criminal prosecution for the offense of Article 259 CC referring to the facts and their legal affiliation as described in the Public Prosecutor No. 43/2024. ”
