Triantopoulos: Exemption for 2022 from the payment of ENFIA for property owners of Northern Evia

Exemption from payment ENFIA for property owners of North Evia provided for 2022, with special provision promoting the Ministry of Finance.

Specifically, as the Deputy Minister states in a post to the Prime Minister, responsible for State Aid and Rehabilitation from Natural Disasters, Mr. Christos Triantopoulosin the bill entitled “Modernization of the operating framework of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission – Public contribution program to vulnerable debtors until the transfer of their residence to the acquisition and re-leasing body of Chapter A ‘of the second part of the third book of Law 4738/2020 – In Greek legislation of Directives (EU) 2020/1151 and (EU) 2021/1159, new reduced Single Property Tax (ENFIA), urgent tax and customs regulations to deal in particular with the energy crisis and other provisions “, provided in 2022 exemption from ENFIA payment for property owners in Northern Evia.

In particular, article 42 of the bill states that “the properties located within the administrative boundaries of the Municipalities of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna and Istiaia-Edipsos of the Regional Unit of Evia of the Region of Central Greece are exempted for the years 2021 and 2022, provided ownership or other rights in rem in the property belong to the taxpayer for those years “. It is clarified that with the Legislative Content Act ratified with art. 2 of Law 4824/2021 (Government Gazette A ‘156 / 02.09.2021) an exemption from the payment of ENFIA in 2021 for the said areas had already been provided.

In this context, Mr. Christos Triantopoulos, stated in this regard: “The Government, under the instructions of the Prime Minister, continues at an intensive pace the implementation of its plan for the support and rehabilitation of the areas of Northern Evia affected by the great fires of last summer, enriching and strengthening it, where deemed necessary, in cooperation with all the ministries involved. In this direction, it proceeds to the exemption for 2022 from the payment ENFIA for property owners in Northern Evia. Specifically, the exemption for 2022 from the payment of ENFIA for the properties of the region is promoted through the bill of the Ministry of Finance that has already been submitted to the Parliament. This is a significant relief that horizontally concerns all property owners in the Municipalities of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna and Istiaia-Edipsos – in the municipalities, that is, that were affected in their entirety by the specific natural disaster. This is a new, important, intervention of financial support to the region and, in particular, to the households and businesses of Northern Evia, which exceeds 10 million euros “. Also, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Responsible for Tax Policy and Public Property , Mr. Apostolos Vesyropoulos, noted that “in the context of supporting the areas of Northern Evia that were affected by the summer fires, we proceed through legislation that is voted today in Parliament, the exemption from the payment of ENFIA for 2022 for property owners in the Municipalities of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna and Istiaia-Edipsos. We remain practical helpers to the citizens and businesses of Northern Evia, reducing their tax burdens “.
