I met today with the Ecumenical Patriarch. Bartholomew, conveying our support to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, but also the deep appreciation on his face and his action on peace, inter -religious dialogue, environment and solidarity.

We discussed with Panagiotis on the major issue of peace, at a time when wars are raging in all parts of the globe and international law is challenged. We asked for his contribution and his speech in favor of peace, the protection of civilians and the dialogue.

We also discussed the need to protect Christian populations in the Middle East, which are victims of conflict and oppression.
