“We take responsibility, from now on and in front of doing everything we can to avoid refugees, so that we do not have pain,” said SYRIZA President, Socrateswho visited the Museum of “Pontian Ladies” at Thessalonikion the eve of the National Memory Day for the victims of Genocide against him Pontian Hellenism.

“A few hours before the Pontian Genocide Remembrance Day, we visited the Museum of” Pontian Ladies “in Thessaloniki, a body that holds his memory and his contribution from 1904. And since 1923 here, in our city,” Mr Famellos said:

“Our today’s visit first of all wants to honor the memory of the people they offer and participate. Because I want to show that the “care” in Thessaloniki has at the same time, in addition to preserving historical memory, a serious social, educational, but also a footprint of cultural value for our city and for Greece, but also for all Hellenism.

I find that the values of participation and offer and collaboration are important, but also their contribution to memory and history. The day of the genocide for us is at the same time a debt in history. We want the truth to be captured and there is a universal recognition of the genocide, but at the same time it is a debt to the rights and the responsibility not to happen again.

That is why we honor the memory of the people who fought and lost. We honor the offer of the people who lived, who created and left a significant footprint. And we take responsibility, from now on and in front of doing everything we can to avoid refugees, so as not to have pain.

This, I think, is an contribution that, at the same time, has an essential, democratic characteristic. Because the participation of volunteers and volunteers for many years gives another message to Greek society. That when you participate and when you offer as an active citizen you can change the future.

I think that’s why it’s worth double here today. “

The president of SYRIZA-PS was accompanied by his wife, Tatiana Papadopoulou, the MPs of Thessaloniki, Katerina Notopoulou and Christos Giannoulis, the Coordinators of the Prefectural Committees of A and 2nd Thessaloniki, Dimitris Akritis.

The museum was toured by the president of “Merimna”, East Dimitriadou and members of the administration.
