Official visit to the US was paid by Chief of General Staff, Vice -Commander -in -Chief Demosthenes Grigoriadis. The tour of the OHIM chief started from Texas and Arkanos, where it had the opportunity to tour the Slots production of Greek F-35 fighters and discuss details of the program of pilots and techniques.
In this context, Chief OHIM found that everything was moving on the basis of the original F-35 schedule, which predicts that the first four fighters will pass to Greece in 2028 and the next four in 2029. These eight aircraft will come to Greece in 2030. In the past, the training of about 70 Greek pilots and techniques that will move to the state of Arkanos will be mediated for almost a year.
The Chief of General Staff emphasized that our country is benefiting from the fact that it will receive the fighters on these dates, as all the issues that have occasionally arisen in the previous versions of the fighter have been resolved.
Meeting with American OHIM Chief
In the Washington tour of the tour, Mr. Grigoriadis had the opportunity to meet with his US counterpart David Alvin, as well as with the International Air Force (SAF/IA) International Affairs (JPO) and JPO representative.
The meeting with David Alvin took place in a warm climate, with Chief of OHIM presenting the potential of the Greek fleet in 2030, taking the opportunity to remind Greece, the release of some modern weapons that Greece has requested.
For his part, the US Air Force leader thanked for the hospitality and support of Greece to the US UAV base in Larissa. At this point, he expressed the US intent to further expand co -operation with Greece. Through the provision of training to Air Force executives and the enhancement of the technical and operational support our country is receiving.
Also, David Alvin appeared to be aware of the good relationships that Greece maintains With Israel, Egypt, and Arab countries, as well as for the patrol of the airspace of Albania, Mavrovouni and Northern Macedonia that our country has borne.
As far as Turkey is concerned, the Chief of General Staff referred to the continuation of Casus Belli, which creates the Need for a deterrence force. In this light, he pointed out that Greece is not an aggressive force, but a pillar of security and stability for the region.
