More than 470 arrests have been made and dozens of occupations have been evacuated in the last 6 years as part of the police operations to restore legality in public universities, reportedly.

Only in Attica, since 2019, 26 “hangouts” or “self -managed” spaces have been evacuated. Only last year, 10 spaces were attributed to the Rector. A total of 11 occupations have been evacuated in Thessaloniki, including the “Organic Hang”, a space that has been occupied for more than three decades and where the consolidated library of the Aristotle University School of Science has now been constructed.

There are no active occupations right now, as government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis has stated.
