On Thursday, Nikos Dendias participated in the NATO defense ministers meeting, where critical issues were discussed in view of the June summit (24–25/6). Issues such as the strengthening of the defense industry and innovation, the increase in defense spending, the deterrent capacity of the alliance, the anti -ballistic defense, the hybrid threats and developments in the Ukraine War were raised at the table.

During the meeting, the Minister of National Defense had a bilateral meeting with his Italian counterpart, Guido Crroset. According to Mr Dendia’s briefing, the two sides exchanged views on the expansion of Greece -Italy’s defense cooperation and discussed progress in negotiations on the possible acquisition of FREMM frigates from Greece.
