A series of legislative improvements as he had announced, according to the proposals of parties and bodies, was submitted by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, during the discussion of the draft law “Code of Road Traffic and Other Provisions” in the Plenary of the House.

In particular, Mr Kiranakis said that improvements that have substance: the introduction of an administrative fine of 700 euros and the removal of the driving diploma for 60 days, the first time of the infringement of reversal, if a traffic collision has been caused. In the case of a leased vehicle, the sanctions are charged by the wage driver offender. Also, the parking bans on caravans will now refer to 7.5 meters long caravans (instead of 6 meters, as provided) according to the documentation submitted by the relevant Association of Professional Caravans of Greece.

Regarding the traffic traffic on the buses, Mr Kiranakis said that it was clarified in the provision of the new CMC, that the 30 -second time limit for the passenger boarding stance – is not valid when it is in existing recess, as it concerns passengers. Authorization order is also introduced for the issuance of a ministerial decision on taxi traffic on buses, when passengers are moving for therapeutic purposes, such as e.g. kidney disease for dialysis.

With legislative improvement in Article 17, he said that ‘Since technology is moving forward, along with the ban on using mobile while driving, other telecommunications devices, such as the use of communication via portable electronic devices in the form of a hand clock and the tablets respectively, are added.
