The conversion of the Civil Aviation Authority (US) from an independent public service to a legal entity of public law (NPD) provides for the draft law presented today to the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas, for the purpose of:
- The harmonization with the country’s European obligations and the regulatory pending compliance that exist,
- The enhancement of the CAA’s institutional and functional independence,
- The most effective management of air transport and air traffic.
Objectives of the arrangement are:
- Institutional reform by focusing on the simple and efficient structure.
- Financial autonomy and flexibility of administration.
- Strengthening human resources.
- Technological upgrading to critical functions.
- Implementation of an agreed action plan with the European Commission.
In this context, a 346 -point action plan has been agreed and drawn up, with distinct pillars, in particular landmarks and six -month surveillance that begins in June 2025 and concludes in December 2028.
Upon completion of the Transformation of the CAA, it is pursued:
– Compliance with the European Regulatory Framework.
– Avoiding fines and sanctions.
– Improving safety and air traffic performance performance.
– Strengthening the country’s passenger and tourist profile.
– Upgrading the public Aviation Authority at the level of organization, infrastructure and human resources.
The administrative reform of the US It is facing pathogenesis of the past and aims to obtain the country an independent, functional and modern HR, compatible with the European requirements and needs of our passenger and our national interest.
The ultimate goals are to enhance the passenger’s sense of security and to further upgrade the quality of the services provided.
