The decision with its positive recommendation for the revision of the national recovery and resilience plan “Greece 2.0”, thus paving the way for the approval of the European Council review, the European Commission issued.
The main objective of the Greek review proposal submitted to the European Commission is to ensure the complete and effective use of all the resources available to the country by the Recovery Fund. The proposal is financially neutral – there is no financial reduction in the Greek plan. The revision consists of adjusting actions for objective technical/management reasons, based on the hitherto image of implementation, while enhancing actions for which there is high demand, and the addition of new projects.
As it became known by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, the new projects in the revised plan “Greece 2.0” relate to: In the comprehensive upgrading of the security infrastructure of OSE’s ten largest railway tunnels using smart systems, the creation of smart crossings in school units and the development of the 65
New projects are also included for the digital transformation of education (in addition to 2,900 interactive paintings in public schools), public health and urban planning with the system of detecting arbitrary construction with modern technological means, supplying two (2) aircraft for civil protection, as well as new public protection system.
The inclusion and funding of new projects was approved by the resources available from the transfer of projects, such as the 13 Civil Protection Centers and the upgrading of 7 Canadair to longer duration financial tools, from actions evaluated that they could not be implemented in the timetable, eg. Upgrading the digital skills of the military, the digitization of the Economic Diplomacy Network, and the Aluminum Dam. According to the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanassis, it is recalled that Greece submitted its proposal for the revision of the National Plan “Greece 2.0” on 14/5/2025, in accordance with the provisions of the Rules and responding positively and directly to the European Commission to establish their European Commission. timely submission of the remaining payment requests.
