Tripartite meeting of Greece, Israel, Cyprus, at the level of Foreign Ministers, will take place next Tuesday in Athens, while bilateral contacts will be preceded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias successively with its Cypriot counterparts, Ioannis Kasoulidis and Israel, Yair Lapid.
As mentioned by representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexandros Papaioannouthe meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Cyprus will discuss the close coordination regarding the Cyprus issue, as well as the coordination within the EU.
In the meeting of Nikos Dendias with Jair Lapid, the focus will be on the planning of strategic cooperation between the two countries, the developments in the wider region in all areas, such as energy, fight against terrorism.
Regarding the latter, Alexandros Papaioannou remarked that “unfortunately we have had three terrorist attacks in Israel in the last few days, which we have condemned.”
He further added that there would be a wider discussion on developments in the Middle East, the Gulf, North Africa, and the meeting hosted by Israel in the Negev Desert between the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Israel and the United Arab Emirates. Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain, which was also attended by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
On the tripartite, the foreign ministers will take the thread from their last meeting last August and examine co-operation between the three countries in all areas, including energy, and discuss developments in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region. in the light of the radical changes in the geostrategic level that are taking place even after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
