Handcuffs on a 41-year-old man who had “ruined” jewelry stores and gambling agencies in Agia Paraskevi

A 41 year oldcharged with 24 thefts and a robbery by jewelry stores and gaming agenciesarrested in the spontaneous procedure, in Agia Paraskevifrom police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Northeastern Attica.

According to ELAS, in the context of investigating theft cases in jewelry stores and gambling agencies, in various areas of Attica, a special team of police officers was set up to identify and arrest the perpetrator.

The 41-year-old, shortly before his arrest, had entered two jewelry stores, in areas of Northeastern Attica. As he was leaving the second jewelry store, police stopped him and after an investigation were found in possession of four gold rings, which he had previously removed from the stores he visited successively as a customer.

According to the police investigation, the 41-year-old motorcyclist in various areas of Attica, approached jewelry stores in the morning or at noon that he had previously targeted, entered them as a potential customer and removed, without being noticed, jewelry of great value. He also went to agencies, impersonating the customer, and using the same methodology removed gambling tickets.

The pre-investigation investigation revealed 24 cases of theft and one robbery, which was committed by the accused in a jewelry store, using violence against the elderly owner.

The 41-year-old, who has been arrested in the past for similar offenses, was taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office.
