Regarding the invitation and speech of the President of Ukraine, V. Zelensky, at a special session of the Greek Parliament, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, we inform you that the KKE Parliamentary Group does not intend to participate.
The condemnation of the unacceptable invasion and imperialist war waged by Russia on the territory of Ukraine, and at the same time the solidarity with the people of Ukraine has nothing to do with any support for President V. Zelensky. This meeting has exactly such characteristics because Zelensky is also part of the problem, head of a reactionary government, which has joined the US-NATO-EU camp, which is also responsible for the war and the suffering of the people of Ukraine.
The Zelesny government – like the governments before him – emerged under conditions of great blackmail against the Ukrainian people, especially after the 2014 coup, with the immediate intervention of the Euro-Atlantic camp.
– Responsible for the violation of workers’ and people’s rights, for supporting and cooperating with fascist raiding battalions, such as Azov’s battalion, which has been organically integrated into the Ukrainian army, police and all state structures.
– Responsible for the legitimization of Nazi propaganda, the rehabilitation as “national heroes” (!) Of Nazi collaborators in World War II.
– Responsible for banning the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine, persecuting communists and other militants, unnecessarily arresting and imprisoning the Secretary and other members of the Communist Youth of Ukraine whose lives are currently in danger. We remind you that the Ukrainian Communist Party has appealed to the European Court of Justice against this decision, while a committee of the European Parliament had found a serious violation of human rights by the Ukrainian government in Eastern Ukraine.
– Responsible for banning 11 more opposition parties.
– Responsible for the violation of the rights of minorities living in Ukraine, including the Greek.
– At the moment one of the vice-presidents of the Greek Parliament, George Lambroulis, MP from Larissa of the KKE, as well as other KKE executives, such as Sotiris Zarianopoulos former MEP and George Maganas, have been described as “undesirable persons” (personae non gratae) , by the Ukrainian government, because they used to be in Ukraine to express their solidarity with the Ukrainian people and the persecuted communists.

We would hold the same stance if the President of Russia Putin or the President of the USA Biden were invited to speak in the parliament. state institutions, political representative of an anti-popular government (such as the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Misustin from the Municipal Council of Athens with the key to the city, etc.).
