The Plenary of the House rejected the opposition’s proposals to set up a pre -trial committee for Maki Voridis and Lefteris Avgenakis.

A total of 83 Members voted.

  • For Makis Voridis, 3, 78, voted in favor of 78.
  • Lefteris Avgenakis voted in favor of 5, 76, a “present”.

In detail:

The two proposals submitted by SYRIZA – New Left and PASOK for the establishment of a pre -trial committee against the two former Ministers of Rural Development and Food Maki Voridis and Lefteris Avgenakis on the OPEKEPE scandal were rejected, according to the European Prosecutor’s case.

83 ND lawmakers and independent MPs voted in the secret ballot, while opposition parties and other independent MPs left complaining that there was no quorum required.

The joint proposal submitted by SYRIZA with the new left and independent MPs for former Minister of Rural Development Maki Voridis has garnered 3 positive votes, against 78 against and 1 present.

The proposal submitted by PASOK and independent MPs concerning former Minister of Rural Development Maki Voridis also garnered 3 positive votes, against 78 against and 1 present.

The joint proposal submitted by SYRIZA with the new left and independent MPs concerning former Minister of Rural Development Lefteris Avgenakis garnered 5 positive votes, against 76 against and 1 present.

The proposal submitted by PASOK and independent MPs concerning former Minister of Rural Development Lefteris Avgenakis also garnered 5 positive votes, against 76 against and 1 present.

Members involved in the vote had the right to vote if they wanted both proposals for the same person.

Because none of the parties’ proposals for the two former ministers has gathered the minimum number of 151 positive votes, they were rejected.
