The TIF Week begins for the government, as it is currently opening the program of excursions of government officials and ministers in northern Greece, which will culminate with the prime minister’s speech at the inauguration of the report next Saturday. It will be the seventh consecutive year that Kyriakos Mitsotakis will appear as prime minister at the TIF.

This year’s presence in the co -host in the famedingly established as a basic programmatic event of each government after the summer is of particular importance.

The government has been in the most difficult situation since 2019 until today. He is weakened, as he records significant losses compared to last year’s European elections, where the New Democracy also recorded a significant reduction in rates compared to the 2023 European elections.

Citizens’ dissatisfaction due to persistent accuracy, housing crisis, weaknesses in critical areas, such as health, of the scandals that see the light of publicity, is increasing.

And the pressure from the opposition may be minimal, as it maintains the ruling party a strong lead over its opponents, but the pressure from the expectations of citizens, who in the middle of the second four years, are now waiting for tangible results, not promises or a story of success in the second four years.

All of this is shaping the framework on which the presence of the Prime Minister and government officials is built this week and the narrative with which Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the citizens from the TIF step.

The phrase “we said it, we did it” is expected to be at the center in response to the expectation of the citizens for tangible results.

And this will concern not only measures to be announced for financial support for “weak and middle class” as has been announced, but also a comprehensive presentation of interventions, measures and policies throughout the range of government policy, which affects everyday life.

It is no coincidence, in this context, yesterday’s intervention by the Prime Minister in the established Sunday review on the issue of energy costs, which, as he said, “concerns every household” and the proclamation of government intervention if not transferred to the invoices.

Increasing energy prices is one of the issues that are steadily concerned with citizens, with discontent being directed to the government.

The TIF is a very crucial milestone for the government, as with a “rich basket”, as described by government officials, it will seek to reverse the difficult democratic climate and achieve the renovation of ND rates.

The bet is not easy. The prime minister is also expected by Thessaloniki to reiterate the report he has included in his public discourse in recent days on the importance of political stability. The dilemma of “stability against the government” is aimed at voters who appear to leave the ND and heading to the so -called “gray zone” and is a dilemma, which is evaluated to have attracted undecided voters to previous elections.
