‘Honorable gentlemen Commissioners,

The recent information has been intensifying that Turkey, while excluded as a non -EU member of the € 150 billion funding for European defense, will seek to join European funding through a joint venture or through a acquisition of a company based in a member of the European Union.

Gentlemen Commissioners,
You know that Turkey is directly threatening Greece and its territorial integrity with branded, continuous and repetitive statements of its high -ranking officials and with the disclosure of maps threatening the Aegean islands. You also know that Turkey has not lifted the threats of war against Greece, which is a Member State of the European Union. You also know very well that in the Russian war against Ukraine, Turkey was on the side of Russia. It is urgent and extremely necessary to create an EU surveillance instrument now, which will block Turkey from any efforts to join European defense funds.

Gentlemen Commissioners,
You have an obligation to do so and to ensure the territorial integrity of a member of the EU, such as Greece. It is inconceivable, irrational and outrageous to approve Turkey’s participation in defense programs with money from Greeks and European taxpayers.

I invite you to act immediately. Do not arm Turkey’s hand. Serve the price of Europe and the territorial integrity of my homeland of Greece
