The prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had telephone contact with its president Ukraine; Volodimir Zelenski.

During the communication, the latest developments in Ukraine were discussed in view of his forthcoming session. European Council On October 23 and 24 in Brussels.

The prime minister also briefed Zelenski on the Peace Summit on Monday in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, while revealing to the Greek Prime Minister the intention of Ukraine to supply natural gas from the US.

The president of Ukraine posted to X the following:

Prime Minister Mitsotakis has just returned from the Summit in Sharm El-Sieich, which was an important peace achievement for the Middle East. And it is right to maintain and strengthen this dynamic. The world unity has succeeded in that region, and now it has to be done to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, this war remains the largest source of world instability and danger today. But, as everywhere, peace is only possible through the power and in the case of Russian aggression, Russia must be forced to stop the war.

I informed the Prime Minister about the situation in Ukraine and the Russian blows against our energy system. We work to enhance our anti -aircraft defense as much as possible before winter begins. Greece can really help rescue human lives, and that’s why I’m grateful.
