The former minister, Panos Kammenos, left open the possibility of his return to politics.
At the same time, in an interview on OPEN TV, Mr. Kammenos stated that Alexis Tsipras should have formed a party from 2019, he clarified that he does not intend to follow his former government partner, while he expressed his support for Maria Karystianou.
“If there are convergences to turn the country into an economic paradise, I will get involved in politics again”
When asked if he would return to politics, he said: “When I suspended the operation of ANEL and did not participate in the 2019 elections because I believed that we had fulfilled our mission to get out of the memorandums, the Prespes came and I left. If decisions need to be made so that there are convergences in order to turn the country into an economic paradise and to clash with the forces of Europe that want to pull Greece back and have it subordinated… If we get to this point, yes, I will get involved in politics.”
Referring to the issue of his return to politics, he characteristically said: “I’m at five o’clock.”
“I will not go with Tsipras – He should have made a party from 2019”
Regarding the creation of a party by Alexis Tsipras, Mr. Kammenos underlined that “he should have done this from 2019… The situation was tragic, we lived through it… The extreme voices made his life unlivable… He was a deputy minister who wanted to see the Sandinistas”, he noted and added: “Tsipras is doing well, he should have done it earlier… The obsession with They are prespes wrong. I will not go with Mr. Tsipras. He must set the mark on what he must do.”
“I would vote for Karystianou”
He spoke positively about Maria Karystianou, believing that if she eventually becomes actively involved in politics, she should not include in her planning any representative of the old political system. “I would vote for her. It gives me a sense of justice that is missing,” he said indicatively.
