Small and large ghosts – figures with gray hair and baggy, worn and soiled clothes – hang from the roof of a KTEL bus in Thessaloniki, which these days resembles a scene from a horror movie.
The scene inside the bus of line 57 has a “director, producer” and the protagonist is its driver, Manos Katsika, now known for the transformations of the bus – as each era puts its own touch.
So, it couldn’t be missing from this year’s Halloween!
“Now they have taught us and they expect us to decorate,” he says, speaking to APE-MPE, and as you can see from the pictures, he again gave his best and brought Halloween inside the bus.
We have decorated the windows, the windshield, the seats, the floor – everything refers to the celebration that in recent years has started to become popular in our country as well, albeit timidly… The young people are especially excited, the older ones ask what all this means… and especially how it combines with our own pumpkin that has the characteristic, scary smile.
At night, the atmosphere becomes even more …weird.
In the dim light, with the right background music, you feel as if Wednesday from The Addams Family could be sitting next to you… and get off at the next stop.
“Everyday life is very hard, loaded, with stress from people, and we succeed every day in making people – in the space inside the bus – smile and leave happy. People are amazed, they say the best”, says Mr. Katsikas who is already preparing the next (interior) decoration for Christmas.
