Proposal for a technical and legal audit of its information systems OKAY from 2009 until today, its members submitted New Republic participating in Commission of Inquiry.

According to the proposal of New Democracy, it is deemed necessary to carry out a comprehensive audit of the information systems used in OPEKEPE from 2009 until today, in order to ensure the integrity, transparency and compliance of their operation with the current legal framework.

The purpose of the audit is to make it clear to the Commission exactly how the information systems worked, who maintained them and how, what was the process of receiving and checking them, as well as whether there was continuous compliance with the respective institutional and regulatory framework, both at national and European level.

According to sources from Piraeus, the opposition parties did not warmly welcome the specific proposal, raising objections to the AADE. In particular, the attitude of Milena Apostolaki raises serious questions as she refused the request of New Democracy, made by the MP Evangelos Liakos, to carry out a technical audit of OPEKEPE by AADE in order to illuminate in depth all the technical and organizational aspects of this operation.

“We were surprised to hear Mrs. Apostolaki react to the proposal of New Democracy with the incredible argument that AADE has lost its credibility and its required neutrality,” said the Party’s rapporteur, Makarios Lazaridis.

“This attitude demonstrates the hypocritical behavior of PASOK for a la carte instrumentalization of the Independent Authorities”, the sources conclude.
