THE Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met at noon, at Maximos Palaceby Speaker of the Senate of Canada George J. Fureyand with a delegation of Canadian senators, who are visiting Greece on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Ways were discussed during the meeting strengthening the full range of bilateral relationswith emphasis on economic dimension of the cooperation. Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the reforms that the government has implemented and continues to implement in order to attract investments, as well as to reduce taxes.
Special mention was made of the numerous Greek expatriates in Canada. Indicative of its intense action and dynamism is that the Senate delegation that accompanies Mr. Furey includes his predecessor in the Presidency of the Senate, the senator of Greek origin Leo Housakos.

The Prime Minister referred to the initiatives taken by our country to support Ukraine, as well as to provide assistance to our expatriates in Ukraine.
The Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Senate of Canada exchanged views on the effects of the war on the economy, with peak energy sector. Kyriakos Mitsotakis analyzed his plan for the energy efficiency of Greece and for its self-sufficiency in the longer term, emphasizing on RES, the announcements for natural gas exploration in six regions of Greece, as well as the movements of our country in order to become a strategic gateway to energy in the Balkans and the EU.
