The energy crisis continues to cause upheaval in the world economy, creating shocks in markets and stock markets, as well as problems for the final recipients, who are the consumers themselves.
It is noted that the impact on the daily lives of citizens is great and has affected millions of households around the world who see the electricity bills increase.
Greece is not and could not be an exception. Despite the support and subsidy measures on the electricity bills, the truth is that obviously there are some of our fellow citizens who, despite the support measures, find it difficult to pay their obligations.
However, the truth is that this phenomenon of course pre-existed even in times when there was no energy crisis.
In the past, there were difficulties in repayment and cases of interruption electricity customers with outstanding billsbut also reconnections after settlement as there is the possibility of settlement.
According HEDNO dataa special feeling is caused by the fact that power outages took place, and to a greater extent in the past years and more specifically in the two years 2017-2018.
Specifically, and according to PPC data, the 2021 there were 274,222 power outage requests and 108,075 connections were eventually cut, as arrangements were made.
At the same time, there is no increase in power outages, but – as shown by data from recent years – a decrease. It is clarified first of all that the power outage requests do not coincide with the power outages that are finally made.
More specifically:
– According to his data ΔΕΔΔΗΕthe number of consumers to whom the power supply was cut off 2017 it was 233,092the 2018 it was 220,314 the 2019 it was 172,843the 2020 it was 186,887the 2021 it was 168,471 and 2022 is so far 56,755.
Also, the number of consumers who were reconnected to the electricity supply after a power outage in 2017 was 168,622, in 2018 it was 156,137, in 2019 it was 128,001, in 2020 it was 121,194, in 2021 it was 112,434 and in 2022 it is already 30,011.
– According to her data PPC concerning its customers: The 2016 there were 313,604 power outage requests and 145,053 connections were eventually cut.
The 2017 there were 524,269 termination requests and 223,854 connections were eventually cut.
The 2018 there were 487,075 termination requests and 194,881 connections were eventually cut.
The 2019 there were 312,640 termination requests and 133,678 connections were eventually cut.
The 2020 there were 374,153 shutdown requests and 137,260 connections were eventually cut.
The 2021 there were 274,222 shutdown requests and 108,075 connections were eventually cut.
