Fire at accounts but also in political debate puts its application adjustment clause in electricity bills. The opposition and especially SYRIZA setting it aside global energy crisis that has erupted from him war in Ukrainethrows them responsibilities in government while Megaro Maximou reminds that the Government, knowing very well the burden of the citizens, has already spent over 4 billion to cover part of the increases.
Raising it high on his opposition agenda energy accuracyThe Alexis Tsipras announced her tabling amendment in Parliament according to which consumers will be given the opportunity not to pay the adjustment clause, without their power being cut off, until its legality is judged in the Greek courts. In fact, after the meeting he had with the Athens Bar Association, the leader of the official opposition claimed that “Unfortunately, our country is a champion in the wholesale price of electricity in Europe. “And the only country in the EU that passes on to the consumer by almost 100% the cost of skyrocketing profits and notoriety.” He called on the government to “stop whistling indifferently” and for all parties to support this amendment initiative.
“We live in a state governed by the rule of law, in a benevolent state, and irrational and illegal practices cannot burden the citizen, to the point that households and businesses today have an existential problem.” said o Alexis Tsipras.
A statement that provoked his immediate reaction government representativecharacterizing “Irrational and dangerous – but unfortunately not unprecedented for Mr. Tsipranas – characterizes the law as illegal political leader of a parliamentary party. As those who bitterly understood, during the period of the memoranda, were deceived by Mr. Tsipras and his various satellite movements, like the rogue memory “I do not pay”, easy words and promises of magical solutions aggravate the problems, they never solve them Said Mr. Economou.
He reminded that “the Government, knowing very well the burden of the citizens from the global crisis on energy, has already spent over 4 billion to cover part of the increases. For this on retail prices in Greece was below the European average in March. “Thanks to the policies of practical support, the Greek citizens paid cheaper for electricity than the Spaniards and the Portuguese, whom Mr. Tsipras often refers to, while the picture is expected to be similar in April.”
The government will use every opportunity to mitigate the consequences for the people
The government spokesman also assured, once again that the government, in addition to what it has already done, will exhaust every opportunity, to mitigate the effects of the global energy crisis. That is why he reminded the plan that is being worked out for a substantial intervention in the price of electricity. “Mr. Tsipras seeks to plunge the country back into the abyss, as in 2015. The people, who have suffered and learned, will not allow it,” he concluded. Giannis Oikonomou.
After all, the Prime Minister has already submitted concrete proposals for very substantial interventions, which Europe as a whole must make in terms of the formation and price of natural gas, internationally. wholesale price of natural gas and in terms of its dependence on the way in which the price of electricity is formed, but also in terms of single gas supply from the European Union. Proposals, which have been widely accepted and the European Commission’s moves are now expected, in view of the Summit.
At the same time, the national plan for decisive intervention in the field of configuration of the price of electricity, at levels significantly lower than they are today. “All this, following the moves made by the Government since last September. Movements that, according to the government, “despite the very large increases and the enormous difficulties we are still facing, resulted in March, for example, the price of electricity in households and businesses, the retail price is very low than the European average, with about 14 European countries being much more expensive than us. “Among them are Spain and Portugal, too.”
