Economou in Tsipras for energy: “He went for wool and came out with a haircut”

by

To the president of SYRIZA Alexis Tsiprasand what he said after his visit to the Energy Regulatory Authority replied the government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou. As he noted, Mr. Tsipras essentially withdrew his allegations of super-profits of energy companies, while pointing out that soon new measures to support households will be announced.

The statement by the government spokesman reads as follows:

“He went for a haircut and came out with a haircut”: Mr. Tsipras visited RAE today and, under the pressure of the facts and the data presented to him, he essentially took back the non-existent calculations they made in Koumoundourou, which he constantly repeated and its executives, for profits of more than 1.5 billion of energy companies.

Also, he could not even say anything about the indisputable fact that after the state support intervention the retail price of electricity in Greece is cheaper than many European countries, which Mr. Tsipras until recently referred to as a model.

With constant lies, incoherence, sloppiness and amateurism, no problem was ever solved. The people are well aware of both Mr. Tsipras’s false promises to the opposition and his term in office.

The Government is constantly listening to the problems and anxieties of the citizens. And he stands next to them. That is why, in parallel with the measures that have already been taken, we are continuing the effort to further alleviate society and business from the effects of the global energy crisis and we will soon announce new more drastic interventions.
