The 14th Ordinary Congress of New Democracy will take place on May 6, 7 and 8 at the Metropolitan Expo. The inaugural speech of the President of the party and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will take place on Friday, May 6. The opening of the Conference will be announced by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Vangelis Meimarakis, while before the speech of the Prime Minister the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis will address a greeting.
On Saturday, May 7, the speech of the General Director of New Democracy, Giannis Bratakos, and the General Secretary of the Parliamentary Group, Giannis Bougas, will take place.
Representatives of European Union countries, representatives of the European People’s Party and the European Parliament, as well as representatives of other parties in the Greek Parliament will deliver a speech during the Conference.
At the same time, on the second day of the Conference, the participants will be placed in six thematic sections, which are: “Security for all”, “Environmental protection and dealing with the energy crisis”, “Everyday life: A state friendly to citizens & “Fair development”, “Strengthening the international image of Greece”, “New Democracy: Dare to evolve while remaining firm in its values” and “Policies for young people”. During the theme “Policies for young people” the youngest MPs of the party will present a package of proposals concerning the new generation.
In addition, on Saturday, May 7, the presentation of the project for the Digital Transformation of the party will take place.
On Sunday, May 8, speeches will be made by the former Commissioner for Immigration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos, the Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schoinas, as well as the former President of the party and former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras ONNED Pavlos Marinakis and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Vangelis Meimarakis.
Before the end of the work, the President of the party and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the body of delegates.
Throughout the Conference there will be Be my Hero booths with the aim of registering volunteers for bone marrow donation, the associations “CONTINUE” and “USARHO” for information and awareness about organ donation, as well as a kiosk for the prevention of child sexual abuse.
As for the organizational part of the Conference, the registration of the participants will take place on Friday from 15:00 – 18:30, the submission of candidacies for the Political Committee of the party will take place on Saturday from 14:00 – 18:00 and the Voting for the members of the Political Committee will take place on Sunday from 13:00 to 16:00.
