In a short video entitled “Four lies of SYRIZA about the energy crisis”, New Democracy responds to SYRIZA’s criticisms regarding energy management.
More specifically, New Democracy points out that the adjustment clause, which SYRIZA characterizes as irrational and illegal, was equally valid throughout the term of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
At the same time, he clarifies that the adjustment clause is provided by the European legal framework and has been incorporated in the Electricity Supply Code for almost a decade.
It is therefore not a phenomenon that exists only in our country, as SYRIZA claims, referring to a “Mitsotaki clause”.
In addition, the video is accompanied by data on the price per kilowatt hour in Greece, in March 2022, which shows that it was 0.236 euros while in the eurozone it reached 0.255 euros, in Spain 0.384 euros and in Portugal 0.245 euros.
Finally, re-attaching relevant data to a table, he responds to SYRIZA reports on citizens’ complaints that the power is cut off by patients who need mechanical support and clarifies that power outages in 2022 are the fewest recorded in the last five years. (56,700 while the indicative in 2017 was 233,000).
