Kerameos: With more prospects than ever, the Greek-American cooperation in the Universities

The event organized by the Ministry of Education and Religions with the Institute of International Education (Institute of International Education) and the support of the Greek Embassy in the USA, with the aim of highlighting and further expanding the cooperation in Greek education, was completed with great success in Washington. .

The Minister Niki Kerameos presented its course to date International Academic Cooperation Program between Greek and American Universities and the prospects of including more synergies, while representatives of 20 top US Universities, such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Stockton and the University of Texas, developed their own experience of participating in this program.

Representatives of the IIE reported that the areas in which American universities showed interest in collaborations reached 102. The representatives of Harvard told how they combine their profession “with the country in which their heart beats”, while the story of an American student, who participated in a student exchange program in Greece, an experience that, according to her, , changed her life as she decided to change the subject she had chosen to study and specialize in archeology.

Assoc. Was also present. Secretary of State for Education and Culture Lee Satterfield, who changed her program to attend the event, expressed the US Government’s full support for the Partnership Program, as well as its intention to further expand the participating American Universities.

Niki Kerameos stated: “Today we took another step in the direction of strengthening the extroversion of our Universities, we opened another window in knowledge, science and research. This is a change of philosophy, a shift of example to a more extroverted, dynamic system of higher education, in Greece that is gaining an important place on the international academic map. The one that deserves our students, teachers and researchers, the one that deserves our future “.
