Neymar and Alisson are on FIFA’s Best of the World nominees list

by

FIFA announced this Monday (22) the list of nominees for The Best award, which elects the best players in world football.

Among those selected are Alisson (Liverpool), who competes for the title of best goalkeeper, and Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), in the fight for the category of main player on the planet. There is no Brazilian athlete in the dispute.

The Italian-Brazilian Jorginho (Chelsea) is also one of the candidates for The Best.

The work of athletes and coaches from October 2020 to August 2021 will be taken into account.

There is also no representative from Brazil appointed in the role of coach or coach.

The Best ceremony is scheduled for January 17th of next year. In the same event, the winner of the Puskas award will be revealed, mentioning the most beautiful goal of the season – the nominees have not yet been revealed by FIFA.

The list was determined after a vote by former athletes and football coaches. Rosana, ex-back of the Brazilian team, and ex-goalkeeper Julio César participated in this stage.

Now, FIFA’s electoral college will define the winners. Coaches and coaches of the national teams participate, in addition to captains, and journalists invited by the entity that governs football. The public will also be able to contribute with their vote, through the internet, until the next 10th.

In 2020, the Polish Robert Lewandowski, from Bayern Munich (ALE), was voted the best player in the world by FIFA. Again he is on the list and is considered one of the big favorites for the award.

The English right-back Lucy Bronze, from Manchester City (ING), won the title of best player last year, after great performances for Lyon in winning the Women’s Champions League. She is also a trophy favorite in 2021.
