Rio Ferdinand and Moen Ali win OBE (Photo: Getty)

A list of the queen’s birthday honors was announced and, as always, there were many sports stars who welcomed the services rendered in their chosen field.

In addition to sports stars, Clare Balding and Tracy Couch have been honored with CBEs for Broadcast and Public Services, respectively, for their connection to sports.

Players such as Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Bale and Luther Brest have all won medals, and everything from billiards to curling to trampolines is recognised.
