Ukraine are just one win away from World Cup qualification in Qatar after defeating Scotland 3-1 at Hampton on Wednesday night.

The Ukrainians played against the background of the ongoing war in their country, so it was a moving night, but he couldn’t get distracted. This was clearly a good thing for most competitions.

Scotland struggled to get the best form in Glasgow and didn’t really care about the visitor except to throw the body forward in the closing stages.

Andriy Yarmolenko fell behind the Scottish baseline in the 33rd minute, quietly knocking the ball over Craig Gordon and giving Ukraine a lead.

Benfica’s Roman Yaremchuk doubled the visitors’ lead just four minutes into the second half, easily raising the score at the end of six meters and heading in.

John McGinn had a great chance to lose the half when he hit a simple moment with his head on the post in the 67th minute. As a result, the Scots struggled to get back into the competition and were truly ruined.

The host re-entered as goalkeeper Heory Bushan fired a terrifying shot and then Calm McGregor’s shot somehow hit the line.

A desperate dive by the defender seemed to clear the ball, but the referee left the goal and Scotland were just a goal behind 90 to 11 minutes later.

They were spoiled time and time again, but they really lacked quality all night, and it was Ukraine who had the chance to score another goal in a break more than anyone else.

This is exactly what happened at the last moment, Artem Dovbikat cut and the ball hit Gordon on the last shot of the game.

The match ends 3-1 and it is Ukraine that will travel to Cardiff on Sunday to play Wales in the final playoffs while the winner takes place in Qatar.
