Rafael Nadal will play this year at Wimbledon, following the Grand Slam on the calendar.

The 36-year-old Spaniard won the French Open earlier this month, beating rivals Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in two slumps.

Following victory at the French Open, four major tennis tournaments were settled at the Australian Open in January.

In Paris, Nadal complained of lower extremity pain and needed an injection just to play the match. His injury sparked rumors that he would miss Wimbledon to focus on his recovery.

But speaking about the possibility of playing at Nadal SW19, Uncle Tony said: “Yes, Rafael plays at Wimbledon. I talked to him. At first he said: ‘Everything hurts.’ But when I spoke yesterday, he said it was much better.

He wants to exercise. And if I get a little chance, I’ll play at Wimbledon. He goes to court on Monday.

Nadal hasn’t played at Wimbledon since 2019, when he lost to Federer in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, he hasn’t won the tournament since 2010, when he defeated Tomáš Berdych in straight sets in the final.

The last male player to win the Slam on the tennis calendar was Australian Rod Laver in 1969.

The fact that Nadal is going to all the British clubs to bring out the legend is surprising given that he received warm-up measures on clay.

Two Wimbledon champions have been told surgery may be required for proper foot treatment, but Uncle Tony says Nadal doesn’t want to end his career.

He added: “Afterwards it’s not a problem, it’s just a problem in the game now. If he had the surgery, everything was gone. But once the surgery was done, he couldn’t play at a higher level anymore. That’s why don’t want to do. But otherwise surgery wouldn’t be a problem.”
